Today we were on our way to a "Friend Dinner" at Mad River (Which is awesome BTW). We decided to get there 30 min early and walk around downtown Charleston, being tourists. I couldn't have imagined a better day! There was a cruise ship in town, and this fog that was just on the water, very thick, and very shallow. I love these dreamy photos that came out of it.

In the world of photography, packages are sold for $xxx and this could or could not include sales tax. Being specific with your customers is a must!
For me, I choose to have my sales tax included in my prices so that there are nice round numbers for what has been paid and what is owed. To do this, you may charge your package amount (lets say it's $100) and calculate & pay your sales tax after the fact. Here's an example of how you would do that: Lets say you have a total sales tax rate of 8% for a purchase of $100. To figure out what the sales tax would be, complete the following steps:
You can use this method with other rates by replacing the "8". Let's say you have a 9% sales tax rate, then you would divide by 1.09. *Update* Apologies for a previous typo indicating 95.59 instead of 92.59 Photography by Lo Photo. I just love throw pillows. I have a whole room full of them (they can substitute for a couch right??) I consider myself a succulent farmer. These things multiply faster than rabbits!! I have been collecting and growing them for years! The funnest part is you can break off a "leaf" and plant it somewhere else - a month later you will have a whole new plant! I told you, I'm a succulent farmer! Fun fact: all succulents are cactus, but not all cactus are succulents. I made this hanging basket for $1.99 - and I made 4! The basket is from Lowes (in the off-season), and the succulents were "gathered" by taking a piece and allowing it to grow and multiply in the dirt. The Spanish moss came from the trees in my yard - South Carolina is just FULL of this gorgeous stuff :) Two things - very trendy I know - Mint & Ombre. I Cant Stop!! This was made from branches gathered in the woods by my house, which I cut. The paint is acrylic. I didn't have teal or mint paint so i used blue, green, and white to make the different shades.
