People have been asking for some photos of the recent walls I painted in our new home - so here goes! 1. My office I painted this wall an ombre teal - mint. I chose to do just an accent wall because my office is FULL of shelving, etc and I didnt want it to look to busy. I chose the wall with the windows and door because it was free of shelves and the windows gave it a nice beach theme. To paint this I used 2 colors - flat teal (the very bottom) and flat mint (the middle of the wall). I first painted about a foot of the teal color. Then I mixed a little of the mint into the teal and painted another foot, (Keep repeating 3 x adding more mint). The top layer was just mint. I blended the layers into each other using a damp towel after I painted each one. The top layer is blended into the color of the walls in my room (off-white). 2. My bedroom Another accent wall! We got our furniture and really liked the rustic-Mediterranean vibe - but when we put it in our room with bare walls it just looked like something you would find in a nursing home - blah! We decided to spice up the wall behind the bed to really tie everything together. This wall was painted in one coat of flat teal (over our existing off-white). I then brushed it off immediately with a broom (link below). I worked in about 2 foot wide sections - top to bottom. The result is a wall that has texture and has the look of wood grain.
